From roadside ruins to radiant recovery — Roadie, the cat who refused to give up
A few months ago, our rescue center got an urgent call.
Someone found a cat lying injured on the side of the road — barely breathing.
No one knew his name, his story, or where he came from.
But one thing was clear:
If no one helped, he wouldn’t make it.
We took him in and named him Roadie.
He had a broken leg.
Almost no fur left.
Covered in mites, battling ringworm.
So anemic his blood levels barely registered.
Then the test results came in: Roadie was FELV+ — a diagnosis that, sadly, often seals a cat’s fate.
But Roadie?
He looked at us with eyes that didn’t beg… they believed.
They believed in a chance.
Roadie’s road to recovery was long.
He underwent treatment for his broken leg, battled ringworm and mites, received transfusions, medications, and weeks of isolation and careful monitoring.
But his foster mom never gave up on him.
And neither did Roadie.
Little by little, his fur grew back silky and strong, his eyes lit up, and his purr returned with full force.
Now? Roadie is sweet, playful, affectionate, and full of life.
He loves snuggles, laps, toys, and people.
He’s not just a survivor — he’s a star, waiting for someone to see just how special he is.
Because he’s FELV+, Roadie needs to be the only cat or live with another FELV+ cat. But he’s great with dogs — and humans, of course.
Now, all he needs is one thing:
A home that won’t give up on him — like he never gave up on life.
❤️ Look at the first photo… then the last. If that doesn’t restore your faith in second chances, maybe Roadie will.
💔 He survived. Now, he deserves to thrive.
