Paralyzed and freezing — Luna couldn’t move, but she never stopped fighting to live
Among the many animals that arrived at the shelter that day, none left an impression like Luna.
She was found paralyzed from the waist down, with an open wound along her spine, and hind legs and tail stiff and ice cold. Her body was limp, but her eyes still burned with life.
No one knew exactly what happened. An accident? A fall? Or someone abandoning her when she could no longer walk?
It didn’t matter.
Luna wasn’t asking for pity.
She was asking for a chance.
The shelter team acted immediately. She was stabilized with a wooden brace, given painkillers and antibiotics, and began what would become the fight of her life.
After days of no movement, a miracle came:
Luna wagged her tail.
Then came something even greater — she began to sit up on her own, and use the litter box by herself — victories that once seemed impossible.
Luna now undergoes physical and electrotherapy to help her muscles rebuild and to protect her spinal nerves.
The road ahead is long, but Luna walks it every day — in her own way.
She’s not ready for adoption yet.
She still needs time, care, and healing.
But when she is, the shelter will help her find the home she truly deserves. Anyone interested can visit their website to learn more about Luna and adoption guidelines.
❤️ Luna may not walk on all fours — but she moves through the world with the strength of her heart.
💔 And sometimes, one wag of her tail is all it takes to believe in healing again.
