This Kitty Is Expressing Her Love For Owners In The Most Unusual Way
Here’s a heartwarming story that’s sure to bring a smile to your face! Meet China, the cat with a penchant for pilfering. While most cats are content with daily neighborhood strolls, China has a unique hobby – she’s a cat burglar!
China’s daily adventures take her into neighbors’ yards, where she collects quite an assortment of treasures, from socks and gloves to even scissors!
Here’s the little rascal:
Monica, China’s owner, recalls how these humorous incidents started:
“It started when she was like 2-3 years old with my housemate’s clean socks. We were sitting on the couch one day and heard her. She was making some weird meows so we slowly peeked around the corner and saw her dropping the sock by my door. It was the funniest thing we had seen!”
“One day, my housemate sent me a text with a picture of all his socks by my door explaining that he was leaving for work and couldn’t find his socks, so he checked my door. It was hilarious! We had to hide the dog poop bags because she would steal the roll and leave a trail of unraveled bags all over the apartment leading to my door.”
However, China’s “kleptomania” truly blossomed when they moved to their current home, and she was granted outdoor access.
She began expanding her “stealing territory,” with items like cigarettes and matches mysteriously appearing at Monica’s door. Initially, Monica thought they belonged to her housemates until more and more items started showing up.
China has been stealing from her neighbors and that needed to stop.
However, Monica would put their stuff back, and China would go and bring it back like she was thinking “I gave you this as a gift” so Monica would wait and return the items at the end of the day.
Here are some more “gifts” China brought to their house.
It seems like nothing is safe when China comes to town.
To address this entertaining issue, Monica even installed a camera to capture China’s escapades. She launched an Instagram account called “Songs Of My Felines” to share her beloved cat’s quirky adventures with her friends and fellow cat enthusiasts.
“So, I decided to set up the camera. I felt like no one really believed me. It was just too funny. My friends really enjoyed it and it made their day. They would ask me about her and if I had any more videos of her stealing things and my nightly backyard wildlife activities. She’s such a character that I just thought a lot of people would enjoy seeing this, so I started Songs Of My Felines.”
China’s “gifts” range from gloves to bags and even scissors! With all these items piling up, Monica decided to return them to her neighbors, fearing their reaction.
“I was afraid of how the neighbors would react because not everyone is friendly, and I didn’t want to have to lock her up in my tiny place. So I tried to feel it out as much as possible, but it was too much. I couldn’t keep covering for her, so I came clean. I left the neighbors a bag with their items and a note explaining what was going on with my phone number and IG contact in case they wanted to see it for themselves.”
“I was so afraid of their response. Luckily, my neighbor contacted me and said that they have an indoor cat and absolutely loved the videos and had no problems with her burglarizing them. They were just glad to know it wasn’t raccoons! I have set up a ‘return box’ that China can’t reach, and they can find their missing backyard items.”
To her delight, the neighbors found China’s antics amusing and appreciated her antics more than raccoon invasions.
So, what do you think of this delightful tale? Would you mind if your neighbor’s cat “borrowed” a few things? Share your thoughts in the comments!
